i strongly disagree, you are painting with a very very wide brush here. Because some lunatic supported some group that people may not like, does not give justification to that the rest of the group is violent. Noe if a conspiracy can be proven (IE them all chanting kill the President then they try too) thats legit. i strongly beleive that the Orange County Tea party went around yelling to kill these people.
He was more than just fucked up. He listen to the incessant chant from the right wing nuts about how they are so put upon, having their rights taken away and taxed to death by the "govment" and liberals. And It was tea party people who attended political gatherings armed with guns. There is no leap here to suggest the tea party supports violence.
