I agree with you but there are exceptions. I saw Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings at Bimbos, and was standing against the stage dead center, right in front of her. The stage at Bimbo's is low, she is short, she was pretty much at the edge of the stage and my face was in her crotch the whole night. Maybe for someone of another bent that would have worked, but it was a little awkward for me.
